IDATE provides regular analyses of the world mobile markets’ main trends – networks, terminals and services. On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (11-14 February 2008), IDATE and ENTER have teamed up to publish the third edition of the special white paper: Mobile 2008: Markets & Trends taken from several IDATE market reports.


The global Mobile market to exceed 860 billion USD in 2007 78% for Mobile services, 15% for Mobile terminals and 7% for Mobile infrastructure.
The world market for mobile telecom services in 2006 amounted to 610 billion USD. Growth remained quasi-stable compared to the previous year, at 11.6%. It is expected to remain above 11% in 2007.
Growth has been far stronger in the developing countries (26% in 2006) than in the industrialised regions (5.6% in 2006). Expressed in value terms, the former countries are now accounting for an ever-larger share of the world total (36% in 2006).
